Description:

The objective of FENDIN project were the following:

- to understand future power distribution networks, based on all energy production technologies being developed today, like distributed energy resources (DER), and also the new forms of managing the networks (active network management, new protection devices, etc), and study scenarios for future networks, under the scope of a performance criteria matrix;

- to create a new vision for the future electrical power supply in a competitive market environment, searching for technical solutions to make a suitable migration between today electrical networks to the future ones. This is to be done in line with the target of sustainable development, considering climate change and security of power supply constraints;

- to produce an innovative approach for the planning, management and operation of distributed power systems of the future with high reliability and quality performance requirements, targeted at creating benefits for the end-user and for industry competitiveness;

- to develop a simulation tool to undertaken studies concerning the evolution from today DN to the future ones.
