Description: Inovation Agency (AdI) has approved and supported the project PFA: Fly Master – Personal Flight Assistant, proposed by Nuno Gomes. This project is related with the Neotec Initiative promoted by UMIC – Knowledge Society. The Research Team involves GECAD/ISEP, Imediata Sistemas Informática S.A., and Visteon Technologies In this paper a new free flight instrument is presented. FlyMaster distinguishes not only at hardware level, since it is the first one based on a PDA, but also at software level once its structure was developed following some guidelines from ubiquitous and context aware mobile computing. In this sense the software has several features which avoid pilot intervention in order to adequate the information to the situation. Basically, the FlyMaster is a pilot decision support system with graphical interface. In the first phase the project is supported in € 15000,00 and in the second phase it will receive more € 70000,00.
